Fiona has been involved in The Virtues Project since 1994 when Linda and Dan first came to Western Australia, and she received her Facilitator Training from them. She believes strongly in the project as it has the potential to raise awareness of the very meaning of our lives in an inclusive, practical and affirming way.
Fiona has been in the field of relationship education for over 15 years, running educational groups covering such topics as pre-marriage, marriage and relationship enhancement, parenting, self esteem, anger management, communication and conflict resolution, and family of origin issues. She is currently working for Relationships Australia, a national organisation whose primary aim is assisting people to develop good relationships. She coordinates all education and professional training for the organisation. Fiona has a passion for facilitator training and has been training facilitators over the past six years. She believes that it is important to recognise the importance of the role of the facilitator especially with a program such as The Virtues Project. It is such an important program and the content needs to be modelled to the highest degree possible when offering the program.
Fiona has run a number of different parenting courses and finds that none resonate so well as The Virtues Project with parents, teachers or people just wanting to learn more about themselves. It is also a program that is acceptable and encouraged within the school system as many parents are looking for something 'spiritual' without it being religious.
Fiona has facilitated the Virtues parenting program many times as well as one day workshops for teachers. She has also experience working with youth at schools and young people at university. Fiona has developed and run a four-week program aimed at individual personal development using Virtues Project concepts.
