Heather Acres is a community development specialist and a Trainer for The Virtues Project concentrating most of her efforts in Western Canada. Since 1995 she has been presenting personal growth, character building, and community development programs for individuals, families, schools, workplaces and communities. She has found that these workshops have made profound differences in helping people treat each other and themselves in a more respectful way and therefore remains dedicated to helping others implement the strategies of The Virtues Project. During 1998, Heather founded Virtues 2000 & Beyond, an innovative community mobilization project that serves to integrate the strategies of The Virtues Project throughout the community of Flin Flon, Manitoba. A description of this community-wide project can be viewed at www.communityvirtues.com. For the past few years, Heather has traveled extensively to provide workshops in other communities, including Aboriginal communities, interested in integrating Virtues Project strategies. Equality and Inclusion of all people are important principles to Heather. Motivated to a large degree by the precious bonds she shared with Aboriginal people in her northern area, she became the founder and president of The Wolf Project, www.wolfproject.com, an international program that honors those who demonstrate excellence in promoting race unity with the Wolf Award.
Heather is a recipient of the Meritorious Service Medal awarded by Canada's Governor General, Adrienne Clarkson.
From workshop participants:
"This was so moving and so touching. Heather's voice is very calming. She is very relaxed and presents herself beautifully."
"This workshop was the most beneficial one I've attended. We can actually apply this at home, school, on the street, and for the feelings of ourselves."
